Faye Snyder, PsyD, is a licensed marriage and family therapist and forensic psychologist who specializes in child custody evaluations and pathological behavior. She is a professor of Developmental Psychology and Pathological Behavior at California State University at Northridge. She had her own pilot radio show at KPFK in 2006: Parenting with Dr. Faye, which is now seeking a new home.
She founded The Institute for Professional Parenting (TIPP) in 1988 and
formulated The Miracle Child Parenting Series with both
professionals and parents in mind. Dr. Faye's Causal
Theory is based upon the premise of experiential and environmental
cause and effect in creating personality and character. She received her
BA in Political Science from the State University of New York at Stony
Brook and spent one year doing graduate work in sociology at New York
University. She received her master's degree in family therapy from California
Graduate Institute in Westwood and her doctorate in clinical psychology
from Ryokan College of Psychology. However, she maintains that her real
credentials come from the wisdom anyone achieves from transcending a difficult
childhood. Dr. Faye is happily married to Ron Snyder and together they
have a Miracle Child, Scott
Clifton. Scott is an accomplished actor on network television
and a talented singer/songwriter. For further information on Dr. Faye's
theory visit www.fayesnyder.com.

Stephanie Anderson, M.A., is a licensed Marriage Family Therapist practicing in Valencia, California. Holding a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, she specializes in issues related to children, parenting, attachment issues, sexual abuse, and relationships. She has been collaborating with Dr. Faye Snyder since she first attended the Miracle Child Parenting Series in 1993. From that point, she immediately grasped the importance and practicality of The Causal Theory and began incorporating it into her work as a therapist, teacher of parenting classes and facilitator of relationship groups. Long an admirer of the writings of the renowned Swiss analyst and child advocate, Alice Miller, Ms. Anderson realized that Dr. Faye’s parenting classes took up where Miller’s theories leave off. In addition to her private practice, Ms. Anderson worked for twelve years as a consultant to a forensic psychologist. There she gained valuable experience in assessment, diagnosis, testing, and writing comprehensive, psychological profiles. She is happily married with a Miracle Child of her own.

The Institute for Professional Parenting has trained Master Parents who function as parenting teachers and coaches. These lay parenting experts are highly qualified to coach parents and they are also expert guides as they are skilled observers of parenting. All Master Parents listed below have taken numerous graduate level psychology classes at TIPP (the same classes available for continuing education units for therapists) and have spent at least two or more years training in relationship skills. All have been teaching parenting at TIPP for years as lay experts. They can function as unobtrusive and diplomatic observers, and they are skilled in assertiveness when necessary, giving quality feedback, and de-escalating tense family situations. As Dr. Faye says, “My interns and teachers live in and practice the theory, or they don’t see clients in TIPP’s name.”
